The system recognizes my router signal, but the driver I need for the PCI communications controller wasn’t part of the list of drivers I downloaded from Acer.

So you are eireless Ethernet now instead of wireless? As a guest, you can browse and view the various discussions in the forums, but can ivilink create a new topic or reply to an existing one unless you are logged in. I know the controller is an Intel 3B64, but Intel’s website indicates the controller has been modified and I need to go back to Acer – Acer just blows me off with the lame explanation that I need to order the recovery disk and use their factory installed software, and basically get over it.
Anyway, I would really appreciate anyone who can help me solve this issue as it is really stressing me out to the fullest, and just to let u know I did open the plate which covers the ram, hard drive and wireless card but I did not touch the wireless card, the 2 tiny cables are perfectly attached to the pins on the acfr and it was working fine with the pre-loaded Home Premium which nobody wants Damnit this is pointless. Acer Aspire G; InviLink Nplify IEEE b/g/n drivers needed – Windows 7
Acer has been less than no help – basically saying their laptop doesn’t support Windows 7 Ultimate. Also, as you might imagine, Acer told me that even though they support Windows 7 Ultimate and the downloaded driver should work, that because I’ve changed the operating system they won’t provide support and the product will be out of warranty.
Follow-up with details Mc, Thanks for the reply I completely re-formatted my hard drive and did a full install of Windows 7 Ultimate.
How to turn on Wireless adaptor on Acer? Yes, I can hardwire my laptop to get internet access, and have done both a windows and driver update, no help.

Anyway if the “PCI communications controller” showing in Device Manager is the wireless adapter, it should show the DevID in the properties; Right click on it and select Properties, click on the Details tab and from the dropdown select hardware Wirdless. Computers always have issues mainly because aceg parts are mass produce and the staff to inspect and test every SINGLE one of them would probably end up driving the cost of your laptops by much more.
Right click the device in Device Manager and select Properties. I am running a wireless network with wep setup some older machine not supporting wpa I have a number of xp pc on the network running fine along with a macbook and a windows And I’m too stubborn to just be a victim to this kind of nonsense.
